Numeric derivation
To name a kind of thing by a number idea, join a number stem onto a content root, the way a lexical compound joins two roots: -l after the root's everyday sense, -m after its abstract sense. The number then describes the kind itself (its essence, its parts, its rank, its catalog code) instead of counting anything in the sentence. (cue: join then number r: lr / mr)

Numeric derivation (ROOT × number stem)
English often names a kind of thing with a number idea baked in (essence of love, a three-part dialogue, specimen #1). In Agazan you write the content root, a lexical-compound join (-l / -m), then a number stem. That stem has no role letter and no ending of its own; the role letter and one word ending belong to the whole derived word. You can then use that word in any role: the number describes the kind, not how many there are. (cue: same glue as bedroom, right half is a number)

PoS + ROOT + {l|m} + NUM + {-l|-m|-n|-r}| Piece | Use | Cue |
|---|---|---|
| PoS | Ordinary slot for the derived word | |
| ROOT | Any content root (V(CV)+) | |
| join | Same letter as a lexical compound: -l the root’s everyday sense, -m its abstract sense | ebedaluruhe bedroom uses -l |
| NUM | Number stem: same marker / digits / digitless-exp body as numbers.md, without a role letter and without its own ending. Tables below use shorthand (+e, _12, +1e, …). Actual words are always spelled CV (raba, roba, rawoba, …): writing style | spoken stem starts with r, so you hear lr or mr |
| Ending | Word ending on the whole word, after the number: -l the kind itself, -m approximately that kind (roughly a three-part dialogue), -n a name, -r a resume. The join letter, not this ending, says whether the root is in its everyday or abstract sense. |
The Agazan columns below write the shape in shorthand (ROOTl+e), but a real word is always spelled out (zalavalrabal): shorthand is for free numbers only. After the abstract sense, the join is -m: zalavamrabal.
A final -m makes the kind approximate:
zazawan dezebelrarem vahahal.z-Azawan | d-discourse-l-three | v-see
"Azawan sees a roughly three-part dialogue."
Compare with: a free number word counts, ranks, or labels something in the sentence. A derived word describes the kind.
A stem with digits has one digit only: +N / -N (how many parts) or #N (which rank). The marker gives the spoken vowel (ra / ru / re). A derived noun takes plural -x as usual (plurality).
Limit / polarity / stage (digitless)
The digitless number words (plus or minus infinity, first or last place, more than one) also work as stems. After a root and the join, they say what the kind is at a limit: its essence, its smallest grain, its absence, its first or final form, many of it, or its undoing.
| Agazan | Use | English | Cue |

ROOTl+e | essence / absolute / pure type of ROOT | zalavalrabal: essence of love | +e = plus with no cap: nothing left to add |
ROOTl+e- | grain / seed / infinitesimal of ROOT | zalavalrabul: grain of love | +e- = that same plus, at the tiny end: a speck |
ROOTl-e | void of / absolute anti-ROOT | zevehelrubal: void of fear | -e = minus with no floor: none of the kind |
ROOTl-e- | quasi-ROOT: the shape of ROOT without treating it as fully real (English quasi-); ROOTl-e-1 / ROOTl-e-2 = quasi-N | zanalobelrubul: quasi-friend; zedamrubudul: quasi-pair | -e- = imaginary amount: the outline, not the ledger |
ROOTl#e- | origin / prototype / onset-form of ROOT | zalavalrebul: love in its beginning form | #e- = start-place: the first rung |
ROOTl#e | telos / culmination / final form of ROOT | zozemrebal: story’s final form | #e = last place: where the kind finishes |
ROOTl+ | poly- / multi-ROOT (unspecified >1) | zehehamral: multi-faith | + = more than one, how many unnamed |
ROOTl- | de- / un- / deficit-ROOT | vozemrul: to de-tale | - = take that structure away |
Quasi-ROOT (-e- / -e-1 / -e-2)
English quasi- says something has the shape or role of a kind without counting as the real thing (quasi-friend, quasi-official). Spell that as ROOTl-e-: the kind’s outline, not a full claim that it is that kind. Change only the role letter to use it as a noun, verb, adjective, and so on.

/w/ (extra detail) | host graded as quasi- | webazemrubul gebazem: quasi-melancholy |
/y/ (interjection) | Quasi-! / As if that kind! | yanalobelrubul |
Compare with: with no root, grubul is the just short amount, and vrubul / thrubul / yrubul / xrubul are that number as a verb, stance, interjection, or discourse word. After a root, ROOTl-e- makes quasi- that kind.
Quasi-N (-e-1 / -e-2)
For quasi- with a number of parts (as if one, as if a pair), write -e-N, where N is the digit that +N uses for that many parts. Spoken, the stem is ru + bu + the digit N: a bare order of magnitude, with no digit before the exponent. The word says the kind has that many parts only as if, not really.
Compare with: with no root, grubuwol / grubudul are real negative amounts in the order-of-magnitude bands −1 / −2.

ROOTl-e-2 | quasi-dual: mutuality as if / imaginary duality |

For a zero-shaped quasi, use ROOTl-0 (anti-null) or ROOTl-0e- (micro-residue). The role letters work as in the quasi table above.
Scalar digit morphs (+N / -N)
English a pair of…, three-part…, primary… can say how many parts the kind has, not how many things the sentence is about. Write a one-digit plus stem after the join: spoken, the marker then the digit (ra+wo for +1, spelled …lrawol). A minus stem -N (including -0, spoken ru+digit) is the privative: the kind lacks or undoes the +N structure (one-sided instead of mutual). The tables write the stems in shorthand (+N / -N).

Null / anti-null by PoS (+0 / -0)
+0 treats ROOT as resettable / emptied; -0 treats ROOT as resisting emptying (insistent residue). The role letter says what kind of thing is emptied or resists. ROOTl-e is void of ROOT (no such kind); ROOTl+0 is a resettable instance of that kind.

The zero × exponent stems from free numbers also work after a root. There they say the kind is wiped out, or leaves a residue, instead of naming an amount. Free vrazobal is annihilate with no kind attached; vodovemrazobal is annihilate the score.

ROOTl-0e-1 | engineering residue at order of magnitude −1 of ROOT | zamomrubuwoyazol: debt as deci-scale residue | -0e-1 = residue at the tenths band |
The ending on the whole word marks soft (-m), named (-n), or resume (-r) as usual.
Emptiness chain (kinds): ROOTl-e (void of kind), ROOTl+0 (resettable null), ROOTl+0e (total null), ROOTl+0e- (sterile grain), ROOTl+0e-1 (engineering null at 10⁻¹). On free numbers, bare grabazol / Ne0 instead assert order of magnitude 0.
On a free number, ±0e-1 is an amount. After a root, the same stems wipe the kind, or leave a residue of it, at that scale.

Label / code sense (_)
When English makes a code part of what a thing is (specimen #1, room 12 as a kind of room), the digits are a catalog ID, not a count or a rank. Put the digit-string marker _ after the join; its digits are the code. With no digits, _ describes the catalog itself (infinite labels).
